One yearly goal, checked every month
You can open Etsy Stats every week and still not know whether the year is going to plan. I built one workbook that splits a single revenue goal into 12 monthly targets, weighted by how busy each month is for your shop, then tells you each month whether you are on track from three numbers you copy out of Stats.
The question
this build answers
How do I set a yearly sales goal for my Etsy shop and know each month whether I am on track?
From the first trigger
to the finished job.
The working version, step by step.
Type the goal and the margin
My Year plan takes your revenue goal, profit goal, margin, average order value and conversion rate, and turns them into the orders and visits the goal needs a year, a month and a week. It also checks that the revenue goal is big enough to cover the profit goal.
Weight the months
Give each month a seasonality weight and the Monthly tab splits the goal into revenue and order targets, so a busy November can carry more than a quiet January. In my sample, November's weight of 1.8 against January's 0.6 gave it three times the target.
Copy three numbers from Stats
Once a month, type Visits, Orders and Revenue from Shop Manager > Stats. I made the sheet work out your conversion rate, average order value and percent of target, mark the month ON TRACK or BEHIND, and keep the year to date.
Plan the product line
Products lists each item by role, whether hero, entry, bundle or seasonal, with its price, target units a month, launch date and status. I made it add up what the line earns this year at those targets and show how much of the goal it covers.
Count back from launch day
I count every step back from the launch day you type on the Launch plan, from photos and tags to the first posts and a price check, and each one gets its own due date. A step that passes its date without being marked done shows OVERDUE.
Read the year so far
The Dashboard sets revenue so far against the goal and against the target to date, counts the months on track and projects the year end two ways. It also shows what the months left need, and my Quarterly review sets each quarter against its target with the best month and whether conversion rose or fell.
The business planner, instant download
Etsy shop business plan and sales goal tracker: 12 monthly targets from one goal, ON TRACK flags from Stats and a launch plan
You get one Excel workbook that also imports into Google Sheets, plus a README and a sources file, and there is nothing to install. If a target or a flag looks wrong, message me from your order and I will check it.
Open the business planner on EtsyChecked by recalculating it
Before listing it, I typed a sample year into a copy: a 24,000 goal, twelve seasonality weights, eight months of actuals with four of them behind, four products and a launch plan with one overdue step.
I recalculated all 466 formulas with a formula engine outside Excel and compared 352 results with figures I worked out by hand, the blank file and an edge case with no weights and a zero month included. Every one of the 352 matched, and there were no error cells in any of those runs.
What the Stats numbers mean
I used Etsy's own definitions from its Help Center, read on 18 September 2026. A visit is one browsing session in your shop however many listings it opens, and an order is one completed purchase whatever number of items it holds.
Conversion rate is the share of visits that ended in an order. Revenue in Stats is your sales minus discounts, with Etsy's fees, postage, tax and fully refunded orders left out, so when I built the Year plan I assumed you would type your goal on that same basis.
What it leaves out
Three jobs stay out because I sell a separate tool for each: the content calendar holds the posting plan and the key shopping dates, the bookkeeping and inventory bundle covers money in and out and tax, and the listing SEO tracker scores listing quality.
If you also sell somewhere else, the plan still works for your Etsy numbers, though I would treat the conversion rate as a figure that only means something for Etsy.
Before you spend anything
The fit matters.
Who should not buy this
If you want the file to read your Stats by itself, I did not build a live link to Etsy, so you type three numbers once a month.
If you sell services or run a shop for clients, the product roles and Stats definitions here are written for a shop selling its own products and will not fit.

A few useful
answers.
Does it connect to my Etsy account?
It reads nothing from Etsy by itself, so once a month you type Visits, Orders and Revenue from Shop Manager > Stats and the rest works itself out.
Does it work in Google Sheets?
Import it through File, Import, Upload. Every formula in it uses a function Google Sheets supports, and I checked the results on a filled sample copy before I listed it.
What currency does it use?
Money is in your shop's own currency and I left out every currency symbol, so there is nothing to change before you start.
What is a seasonal run rate?
I give you two: the straight run rate is your average month so far times 12, and the seasonal one is revenue so far over the target to date, times the goal, so a quiet January with a small target does not drag the whole year down.
